Snow Camp Announced as South East Winner of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2023

Snow Camp is announced as winner of the Social Justice Apprentice Employer of the Year at the South East National Apprenticeship Awards 2023

Snow Camp were honored to attend the regional National Apprenticeship Awards ceremony on Wednesday 18th October 2023 where we were announced as winners of the Social Justice Apprentice Employer category; regognising organisations who support people into and through apprenticeships who are disadvantaged or under-represented.

This could include, for example, people with a learning difficulty or disability, people with experience of being in care, who have caring responsibilities, from ethnic minority backgrounds, or with low prior skills/qualifications attainment, or other disadvantaged background – very much aligned with the demographics of young people we’ve been proud to impact over the past 20 years.

Snow Camp Fundraising Manager Anna King attended the ceremony with Daisy Aylott (London Programme Manager) and Sofia (Snow Camp London Apprentice).

Anna said: “This award is great recognition of our work in bringing underrepresented groups into the snowsports industry and using snowsports as a powerful youth-work tool to engage young people in positive alternative pathways away from the challenges they may otherwise be facing. For me, it was especially lovely to be able to bring Sofia along to the event, one of our fantastic London Apprentices. As a national staff team, we’re very proud to win the award and now look forward to the national finals.”

Back for their 20th year, the National Apprenticeship Awards are a fantastic opportunity to highlight business and individual success in apprenticeships. Particularly poignant this year, given the challenges many employers and apprentices have faced during the pandemic. Each online ceremony recognised apprentices that have gone above and beyond to make a difference whilst undertaking their apprenticeship, exceptionally dedicated apprentice employers and individuals who champion apprenticeships and all their benefits. Apprentice employers, apprentices and apprenticeship champions from all industries entered the awards – with over 1200 entries received nationally from sectors including public sector, construction, health, IT, science and digital. Snow Camp will now progress to represent the South East region at the National Final on November 29th 2023. Wish us luck!
